He is the founder of the current South African property group, Capitalgro and co-founder of Capitalgro Atlantic (CGA) in both the US and Europe, and currently serves as an Executive Director on the CGA & Capitalgro Group Boards

Gary is a UCT graduate. He was a co-founder and member of CBS Property Group’s executive team from inception in 1994 through to its JSE listing and subsequent disposal. In 2008 he launched British Capital, a Guernsey-based property company that targeted direct investment into the UK commercial property market.

He has since 2014 been involved in the growth of Capitalgro, a directly held Cape Town property fund with an asset value of approx R1bn, and together with Gavin, established Capitalgro Atlantic, initially in the US and now in Europe.

Gary’s career has spanned both the private and public sectors. His holistic approach to property led him to establish the Property Foundation, a not-for-profit property development company. He has also served a term with the Western Cape Govt, as head of Public Works and as an advisor to the premier on infrastructure-related matters. During his time in govt, he conceptualised and led the R2bn Conradie multi-use precinct currently under development.

CBS Properties Ltd, a start-up in 1994, listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in 2005 & acquired by the Public Investment Corporation in 2007. (Market Cap of R2,4bn)

British Capital Ltd, a Guernsey registered property fund established to hold British property investments

Capitalgro Properties, established in 2013, currently a R1bn portfolio of greater Cape Town Metro properties. (capitalgro.co.za)

CGA USA, launched in 2016, and has facilitated investment in ±R4bn of residential developments and commercial acquisitions across the South East of the USA on behalf of investors. The business is based in Atlanta in partnership with Crossgate Partners LLC
